In the handbook it says fill with oil until it reaches the top of the hashed area on the dipstick. My dipstick (ooer) has a hashed area divided into three by two horizontal bands. The oil level reaches the upper of these two bands. Is this correct?
The bike is quite new and was serviced before I brought it home hence my ignorance regarding this detail.
Any advice much appreciated.
You are checking the oil?
I knew I was missing something.
Anywhere on the hash is fine, I think.
:D
Remember as well that the bike must be vertical and the dipstick fully screwed in.
I think it's supposed to be on its wheels, too, but I use the c.stand. I've always been a bit rebellious
I'm a lazy git and screwing the dip-stick in to check the oil is soooo tedious. I've found that when the dip-stick is just sat on the cases & the oil level reaches the lower mark, it's the same as the top mark when fully screwed in. Saves a few seconds.
I do it on the centre stand. The difference between that and "on both wheels" will be minimal. And it's less likely to fall over!
We need some lazy-arse to work out how to check the level on the sidestand. Some kind of dipstick extension?

Dipstick? There's a dipstick? And to think I've been putting the bike on the centerstand to look through the window all these years.....

Keeping it between the marks.
