Title: Baked on "Break-in Schedule" Label
Post by: J. Breeze on September 22, 2006, 04:37:49 PM
I'm looking for suggestions on how to remove Triumph's static cling, break-in schedule after the previous owner left it on the gas tank of my 2001 through several Sacramento Valley summers.

It is now baked onto the tank. I have tried rubbing alcohol and Motul's Spray and Shine and have only managed to get off small bits around the edges.

Any ideas?

McClarens's or S100 will have something for that.

Zippo lighter fluid.Just make sure there are no flames around. It won't harm the paint at all.I used it on my tank with no problems

I'd try it on some other metal painted surface.... maybe GOOP...???

But I almost always turn to Charcoal lighter fluid for that kind of stuff...

but you've gone a similar route.

Put a naked woman sticker over it!

Try brake cleaner, it may take a few good soakings but it usually cuts most adhesives.......Good luck

Do you think maybe the DPO broke it in properly? :D
