Sweet!  Nice Job.  I'm in.  T-Shirts? Hat? Decal?
Title:

I like it. What sizes?
Title:
Post by: McGuiver on December 16, 2007, 05:41:07 PM
Well, since I just started working on it this morning, I haven't given it much thought as to size etc. I wanted to run it past you guys first. I was thinkig of adding tigertriple.com below the logo if that is OK with the higher-ups? I can make them any size really......4-5" for bikes, or much larger for cages (back windows etc.). If enough people want them, I will run a batch, and donate 20% to the administrator, to help keep our site up and running. What do ya think? As for prices........for example. A 4-5" decal ,laminated for outdoor use, would be about 6.00 each including shipping in the US, (or whatever additional it costs to send across the pond). A 9- 10" would be 13.00 including shipping..........anything larger, I would custom quote according to size. I should have listed this in the "for-sale" section ehh? I only make decals, but I can lend the artwork to a t-shirt place, and get shirts made as well...........no idea as to price for that tho.

Oh man, that is sweet!  I am definitely in for a few of the 4-inch size.

As far as putting the website name on it... I PM'ed Abruzzi to look at this thread as soon as he could, as he owns the site, is the Webmeister, Big Cheese Admin, etc.  It's up to him.  Personally, I like it, but it's not up to me.

Dude, if you take this as far as T-shirts and maybe patches... hell yeah, I'm in for a few of each.

That's great then! Let me re-do the logo with the web address on it, and I'll post it up so that everybody can see what it's gonna look like. In the mean time, anyone that wants to order, please e-mail me at kerrysautoart2000@yahoo.com with the size and quantity that they want, along with their contact info. When we get enough together, I'll run a batch!

not to piss in your cornflakes but The Triumph name is a copyrighted logo and you may have trouble from triumphs lawyers , they have been known to force people to quit marketing stuff with their logo . you can use the old triumph logo all you want because no one has rights to that one  but the new one is a no no to use .
I know people in the t shirt trade that have had to alter their designs because of this
Title:
Post by: McGuiver on December 17, 2007, 12:26:57 AM
Actually, I covered my butt on the copyright thing as mine is just a bit different then the original. My e-mail address is fine, check your spelling etc. Thanks for the orders that have come in so far! Please be patient with me during the Christmas holiday, but I promise I will get to them within a few weeks.  :D

Here's the same design with the web address. This probably would make a nice t-shirt design!
Title:
Post by: Stretch on December 17, 2007, 12:53:11 AM
I would buy a couple T-shirts.  XL, if you're testing the water...

WOW......getting lots of interest here! That's awesome! Lots of people wanting shirts too.........guess it's time to get down to the shirt shop to see what's-what. I'm sure they are going to have some sort of minimum order rule, but we will see. Would you all prefer White or Black shirts?
Title:
Post by: HappyMan on December 17, 2007, 03:48:32 PM
I'd prefer black.  I'd also rather pay more for a decent quality T than just another cheap one that will fall apart in a year.

Just my input....
Title:
Post by: McGuiver on December 17, 2007, 04:25:43 PM
Just called the T-shirt shop..........they have a minimun order requirement of 72 shirts! There is less of a minimum for black and white  designs, but I think the logo would lack luster if it were black and white. The price isn't bad, but I'm not sure if THAT many people here are going to want t-shirts??? From the quote that he gave me it sounds like I could sell these for around 17-18.00 plus a little something for shipping. And YES they would be good quality screen printed shirts.
Title:
Post by: HappyMan on December 17, 2007, 04:33:56 PM
Count me in for at least two.  One of each color if possible or two of whatever you end up with.  Let's see how your count goes and let us know.  You were going to kick in some of the profit to the site also, right?  I was thinking of donating anyway so this way we can kill two birds with one stone.  8)
Title: You must be using the same place
Post by: TriumphTengu on December 17, 2007, 05:32:49 PM
We printed some shirts a few years back for our VW Gang the "AirCoolers" and we had a 72 shirt minimum with a set up fee for each screen.
You've got four colors (black, white, yellow and red)
so they'll charge you a $15 to $20 set up fee for each of the silk screens.
You get to keep these so when you go to make more you'll have the screens.
But unfortunately they usually use the cheapest shirts.
Title:
Post by: zombie on December 17, 2007, 06:24:23 PM
My Mate has a t-shirt silk screening company just down the road from me and I have had shirts made up with no minimum and the shirts cost me on  average about 7 bux .
I'll can show him the logo tomorrow and get some quotes if ya like
or just p.m. me and we'll chat
later mick

Nice looking sticker--I like your design!

Is this something you print yourself, or would you have them done? What kind of material?
Title:
Post by: McGuiver on December 17, 2007, 09:47:56 PM
The stickers I print myself on premium 7 year outdoor rated vinyl, and they are laminated as well. They are made to be stuck on vehicles etc., and will take a fair amount of abuse. I own a sign shop, and this is the kind of stuff that we do...........the shirts, on the other hand, are not. So I will have to out-source those. Thanks for the compliments, and the orders so far!

OK...I have made a batch of the "small" 5" decals, and I think have sent an e-mail to everyone who e-mailed me. I have yet to go through all the posts here and PM those who did NOT e-mail me, but I will do that next. If anyone does not hear from me, and wants to place an order, please send me a PM, or e-mail me at kerrysautoart2000@yahoo.com. Anyone who ordered the Larger size, or ordered some of each, I will be contacting as soon as I run a batch of the bigger ones..........Whew! have I completely confused everyone now?? That's it for now! Thanks for being patient!

I have sent decals to everyone who has gotten back to me, but only about 50% of those who originally said they'd like some, have come through   .........so.........I have LOTS of extras!!!! If anyone else would like some, just e-mail me your address and quantity wanted. 5" are 6.00, and 9" are 12.00. This includes postage (US), but does not include the paypal fee, which is minimal. Either that, or I'm gonna start sticking em on every BMW, and KLR, etc. that I see...............
Title:
Post by: HappyMan on December 30, 2007, 04:32:20 PM
I don't need any extras at the moment but if you get stuck with too many I'll purchase some more.  Just let me know if it get's to that.

I'd hate to see you get burned with 72 shirts on your hands if all that say they are interested don't follow through.  I print shirts all the time for my company and I never have that high of a quota to make.  They are expensive shirts so perhaps that makes the difference for my lower quota.  Perhaps someone here could recommend a different company??

A suggestion...  Maybe a Sticky could be made at the top of the Genreal area so that as new folks wander in here they see the decals / shirts / whatever is available.  It might take a while to move them but I'm sure they would all go eventually.

Just a thought.

Funny thing it, when I bought my Land Cruiser a decade ago, it had the Hardly Logo on the tailgate.  I pulled it off, but it never came fully so there is a faint outline recognisable as the motor company's logo.  The 5" sticker should be able to nicely obliterate that.  :-)

The decal now adorns my land cruiser, if you look closely you will see the border of the HD sticker from the previous owner I removed.  Now that I think about it, it would have been cool to leave the HD logo, and slap the tiger over it.

Geof
(BTW, the damage to the bumper and the corner of the body was not me, I lent the truck to my then girlfriend, who parked it on a steep incline in front of her house without using the parking brake, just in gear.  The truck was heavy enough and the incline steep enough that the truck rolled backwards after she went inside and rolled back twenty or so feet and hit one of those green high voltage transformer boxes that the electric company puts in neighborhoods, knocked it ten feet, and took out power in like a three block radius. :D )

McGuiver,

Do you have any of the stickers left, if so I would like to order a couple?

Please could you let me know how much they would be with postage to the UK and any paypal fee.

Thanks,
Steve

Title: Tiger sticker
Post by: goosen2002 on May 14, 2008, 03:48:53 AM
Hey
It's great to see an individual taking the initiative to come up with a cool looking logo ... BUT ... everyone had better be careful about copyright infringement. I say this because I am graphic designer that does some work for the Hamilton TigerCats. They are a professional football team that plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The tiger illustration used on the sticker in this thread is a registered trademark of the Hamilton TigerCats. I am not sure how the copyright laws work across borders, so there may or may not be an issue. ( I am thinking there is). I don't want to rain on the parade, I just don't want to see fellow Tiger riders to get into any problems.

McGuiver?  It would appear that the current design must be changed, and I request that you sell no more of the current design.  This site doesn't have the capital to withstand a copyright-infringement lawsuit.

Goosen, thanks for bringing this to our attention as a concerned fellow rider.  We appreciate the heads-up.

Title: My appologies!!
Post by: McGuiver on May 14, 2008, 12:23:20 PM
I haven't been on the site in a couple of weeks, and just found this new addition to the thread. I am sorry that the head of the Tiger turned out to be the same as their logo! I got the tiger off of some site on the net, and had no idea that it was something that was protected.  I have destroyed the remaining 2-3 decals, and appologize to all who may have been offended.

If my work load slows down this summer, maybe i'll whip up something (original) that can take up the slack that the lose of this sticker creates.

That's very kind of you, Goosen, thanks.

McGuiver is our sticker man extraordinaire...  no doubt, if you two put your heads together, y'all could come up with a nice 'un.

Thanks.
