Got to work this morning and couldn't lock the handlebars. Tried for quite some time in both the right hand and the left hand positions and it just wouldn't go into lock. I haven't had to use the lock much at all on this bike yet but I have locked it before and yes, I'm familiar with how they work. My question isn't how to make it work but if this is just "normal" for these bikes or should I bring it in to the shop for warranty repair before my warranty ends in April. Thanks for the input.
On my 03 (and my old 05) you have turn the bars to full stop left, then back-off just a bit and it pops right in.
Yeah, I've had many bikes like that but this one just ain't gonna go. It doesn't mater where I put it, it won't lock. I even had some trouble turning it to the "on" position. I haven't had the problem before, maybe it's just cold.....

Could be. A bit of water in the works from a previous wash, and then it freezes...

That's exactlly what happened. It sat in the sun for a little bit and it's working fine now. I had just rinsed it down after the previous ride to rid it of salt as long as it was above freezing.

:ImaPoser It's not the frozen pee that'll get ya but the frozen dog pile. Stub your toe on that some time.....

Oooh yeah! This time of year you can hit both and if your luck runs out you'll stub your toe on one pile to land in a soft one....o.k. so I guess I'm admitting we haven't done a great job of cleaning up after my dog this winter....
