Title: Sticky throttle cable
Post by: Jrod on April 07, 2008, 08:55:36 PM
After a long ride this weekend I notice my throttle cable likes to stick.  I'm used to the throttle snapping closed when I release the throttle, but this one is dragging.  I've checked to make sure the grip isn't binding up the throttle and it definately is not.  How do you lube the throttle cable; I've never had to do this before?

Thanks!

I would recomend changing the cable.  You will probably find it frayed at one end.  Teflon lined cable sheaths are not meant for lubing.

This is true but I've always found it improves them and I've never had any problems. Just use some very thin oil and a plasticine funnel to get it in there.
