Title: New TigerTriple.com sticker rough ideas
Post by: goosen2002 on May 20, 2008, 05:43:57 AM
Hey
Some plans fell through this long weekend, so I had a bit of time to do some ideas for a new "original" sticker. Here is what I have come up with so far. I thought maybe people might like to have a look.
Enjoy

Goosen, is there any chance of a Tiger riding a Tiger? Full body pic of cat stood up on the pegs, paws on the bars? Side view for preference.

I'm useless at these things but thats the sort of thing I would like.

Of yours v1 and v3 are best

You are a star to offer your time

I have a grand idea.  How about changing the text to 'TigerTriple', since that's the name of the site.

Thank God I have thousands of people that can proof the designs and tell me how I F*&ked up. Don't worry though, they are roughs AND different versions will be coming when I get some free time. Hopefully I come up with something people like.

I DID change the name to TigerTriple.com to save myself further embarrassment.Do you think it will work?
Title: Sure there is.
Post by: goosen2002 on May 22, 2008, 05:53:00 AM
"John Stenhouse" asks "Goosen, is there any chance of a Tiger riding a Tiger?"

Sure there is BUT, would it be a Steamer, a Girly or a Roadie. I vote the Girly!

Nice work on the design.  Thanks for investing your time like that.  I know most of us never have enough of it!  Once the design is finished, I'll get it up on the CP site for shirts / hats / mugs / banana hammocks / whatever...

v1 is my preference but, just in case v2 or v3 are produced, the apostrophe should be after the "s", not before.

Cool.  I'll take one, too.

Where in Ontario are you? I'm in Toronto and almost never see another Tiger.

Me either. Although last week in Burlington I was giving the wave to a bike coming the opposite direction and it was another black Girly. Imagine my surprise!!
To answer you question, I am from the Niagara area, but I do some freelance work in  Oakville and Etobicoke, so you might spot me someday.

One thing I think would look nice, is to try to get a hint of Triumph in there.  I was thinking like halftoning a big "T" behind the tiger head.  That shouldn't infringe.

Title: V.6 and v.7
Post by: goosen2002 on June 02, 2008, 07:26:30 AM
Here are a couple of more ideas to throw around. It looks like this is it for a while though. My work load is pretty heavy from the beginning of June till September. I am not sure if there is a way to keep a running tab of the votes each gets or if any of these designs will go anywhere, but I had fun.

Enjoy

V7 rules. Classy, cool Tiger with a lot of Triumph feeling. Really good art  work!
Title:
Post by: Silverstripes on June 02, 2008, 08:02:30 PM
V 7 has my vote.

However I don't like cheap prrinted "T" shirts. It has to be an embrodered Polo shirt or better still a short sleeve cotton pit shirt. I have the Offical Truimph pit shirt and love it. It has Triumph embrodered right across the back.

So put me down for V7 on a nice posh shirt. Or Send the art work and I will go to an embroderey outlet.

Nice job well done.

Yep.  V7 rocks.  My only comment (being nitpicky) is if you could curve up the beginning of the swoop quicker so it looks more natural as the beginning of the "G".

I'm thinking v7 would look real sweet on a black T.  Or a black anything for that matter.  With your permission I'll put together some items on Cp or Zazzle.  Will need some Hi Res originals to make them look their best.

Embroidered is no problemo now!

Great, sure, high res no problem ... once everything is final we will work it all out. It would be great if I could get a sample or two.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is Cp or Zazzle

I think Cp is cafepress.com.

Also, v7 is the one.  Thanks for your work on this.  I might ask you're permission to use it as the site logo.

Of course you can use it as your site logo. One question about the secondary line, I have written "On-line Triumph Tiger Riders' forum" but the original is "A forum dedicated to all Hinckley Triumph Tigers", which would you like me to use? AND you now have the opportunity to change it to something else if you want.

I like v6 with Geofs Idea to swoop the G , and my .02 would like to see v6 with the tiger from v7 centered but no tail

Maybe if you have 3 different selections ie v6 v7 and now v8 we could all vote on the one thats best ! :thumbsup

Once the final design is agreed upon, would it be possible to have some of the different colors represented?
Title: I've Got a Tiger by the Tail
Post by: TriumphTengu on June 05, 2008, 03:11:58 PM
Now if it was a full body tiger wearing a hat with the logo, and a tee shirt with the logo with a pack of Camels twisted up on the left shoulder which had the logo tattooed on it.....

Version 9 is nice.  Tee shirt, sticker and a tattoo. :D

v8/9  I can't decide.

Quote from: "pit0rz"Once the final design is agreed upon, would it be possible to have some of the different colors represented?

I guess ... but the idea was to use the Triumph blue (or something close) so that the logo resembles the Triumph logo .... and, it is more cost effective to only have to reproduce one "umbrella" version.

This is the latest state of the logo. I tried to clean it up a bit and make it easier to use at smaller sizes.

Works for me!  Thanks for doing this, it looks grrreat!
If you guys want T Shirts / Hats or stickers the Zazzle site is ready to go.  I just need to get Hi Res versions of the artwork and I'll get some swag up.  Response to my other posts on this has been pretty much non existent so far...

What format and resolution do you want the files? I am working on a Mac in Adobe Illustrator but I can make it other formats.

Do we have the okay from the site owners?

I'm not that well versed on graphic artist stuff.  I did find this guide on the zazzle site:
http://71.244.124.54/zazzle_img_res.pdf

As far as image type I know I can do .png
Is that a good one to use?  :icon_scratch

Oh, and I took the liberty of uploading v4 to Zazzle (I really like that one) just to try it out.  I think the coffee mug looks great.

If I were in the market for another sticker (the ones I got last time are still stuck on, thanks), I'd go for tiger-logo-6 in black. Very nice job on the graphics, and you've gotten the unnecessary verbage off it. Very clean, very appealing.

Well, I just ran through the 3 pages so far and I have to vote for V4 with the orange Tiger head.
Anyone know if there was ever a motorcycle version ad of the old Esso "Put a Tiger in Your Tank?" I tell people "My Tiger IS a tank!" Unfortunately making #3 piston go bang was not what I wanted my "tank" to do;-) hehe.
AndyB, 96 Steamer (to be resurrected, thanks Ken!).

I think v-5 makes a great shirt design.
Left chest on T-shirt or golf shirt.
Full back on t-shirt.

Love the crest idea.

Put this on something....anything, coffee mugs, decals, hats., shirts...I'll buy it!

yeah, I was in a conference in Portland, OR, which I converted into a ride (great rental company:  http://www.oregonmotorcyclerentals.com/ (http://www.oregonmotorcyclerentals.com/) - they have several Triumphs.)  And I've just been trying to get caught back up...

Anyway, I'll double check and make an official statement soon.
