Ouch!

Hungarian weightlifter Janos Baranyai's first Olympics ended in agony when he dislocated his right elbow.

"Yes, I'm 16.  Proof?  Uh... I lost it.  Yeah, that's it... I lost it."

"Mike Walker used a Chinese search engine's cache feature to find He's actual date of birth on spreadsheets from a Chinese government website. The spreadsheets were taken down off the site recently and He's name had been removed."

She just wasn't cute enough...

BEIJING - A 7-year-old Chinese girl was not good-looking enough for the Olympics opening ceremony, so another little girl with a pixie smile lip-synched "Ode to the Motherland," an official said.

In the latest example of the lengths Beijing took for a perfect start to the Summer Games, a member of China's Politburo asked for the last-minute change to match one girl's face with another's voice, the ceremony's chief music director said in an interview with Beijing Radio.

"The audience will understand that it's in the national interest," Chen Qigang said in a video of the interview posted online Sunday night.  He said he felt a responsibility to explain to the country what happened but on Tuesday the link to the video on the Beijing Radio Web site no longer worked.

The sports that require all the judges to press a button within a set time to score a hit all leave a lot to be desired.
The Brits had a decision overturned in the womens Taekwondo when she was fighting a Chinese girl. First time in history. Unfortunately, she lost in the semis but did get a bronze.

Here you are...

Britain appealed after judges missed a final-round kick to the head by Stevenson which would have been enough to win.  The result was reversed - thought to be a first for the sport - after video footage was considered...
