I am amazed that you'd buy another Triumph after the problems you've had.  You truly are Britarded.

It is pretty though.

I just got lucky with my Tiger, that's all!  That and I'm probably retarded.

They screwed up when the left this body style for the modern one.  I get funny feelings in the crotchular zone just looking at pics of this one!

I do agree that is a badass bike.

And I guess maybe you are just lucky.  Hopefully I am not quite so lucky.

Title: Forget about it!
Post by: JetdocX on March 20, 2009, 02:20:22 AM
I'm going to stop looking at Craigslist and put my extra $$$ into my retirement account to offset my tax liability this year.

Dammit!  Responsibility sucks.

Also buying a house pretty soon, so I might be stuck with my lovely, reliable, cheap to own and cheaper to maintain Steamer.

I think buying the Duc would actually save me money in the long run!

Wow, that is a sexy bike.  JD you need that one so you can ride it when your Tiger is broken.

OK, doc, quiet down the hard sell!

The yellow one is gone...sold!  Temptation averted once again by inaction and delay tactics on my part.  I'm quite deft at this, BTW.

That bike definitely looks better in red.  I would never have known. 8)

Hey Jetdox,

You probably dont want to know this but.....

I know you are not a fan of the later Daytona's styling, but what a ride! Yes I know the Jap supersports are probably better machines but at my level of ability this is more than enough motorcycle.

You can tell practical Jetdox that the motors in Daytonas use forged internal and will likely live as long or longer than a Tigger motor

Enjoy!

Dude, no bikes until later!  Besides the Daytona was the instigator of this thread, BTW.  Just don't like the post 2000 styling.  And, no, I don't want a Jap bike unless someone gives me one.  Anyone?????  Beuller???

Seems I'm getting a sizeable chunk of loot back from the feds this year. :D  :D  :D

Isn't it a rule that you must blow unexpected money?

Latest target for my bikelust:

Shiver me timbers!

Lovely machine,  saw one at my local dealer recently.

He's trying to get out of Aprillia though, not a mainstream make, so not much money in it for him. And most of the kids round here want scooters anyway.

I sat on one of those Shivers today during my lunch break.  Black with gold trellis frame.
 8)  Damn, Bikelust.  Fits me perfectly!

The fooktards at my local dealer wouldn't let me ride it and won't come down one IOTA in price.   Guess I'll source on from the Bay Area next week.

My ridin' buddy is selling his Dakar F650 in Sacramento and continuing on south to Sandy-Eggo to buy his 120 mile used Shiver.

That's what I get for having a good idea!  Soon all your friends are beating you to the good CL deals!

Friend:  Hey, I need to go to Costa Rica this week.  Could you go ride my Shiver and put some miles on it to help me break it in?

Me:  Oh HELL YES!

I'll be riding it all week.  I may not give it back.

He's definitely going to have to pry the bars from my cold, dead hands.   I think by Thursday afternoon I will have reached break-in mileage on it.  Then I can get stooopid with it!

The Shiver is one of the most enjoyable around town bikes I have ever ridden.  Except for the stoplights, when my marshmellows start to roast due to the underseat exhaust.

Gobs of down low torque and a nice low Italian growl to go with it.  It's a blast to ride.  I'm pretty sure Josh is not getting it back.
