Is lance a member here or something? You guys seem to know him.
I wish I knew him. Lance Mackey is a cancer survivor who won the race in 2007. Everybody said it was a fluke, so he went out and won it again last year. And he's doing well again this year...

He ought to be close to Nome by now. He left White Mountain (the last checkpoint before Nome, about 70 miles out) at about 2am Alaska time, so he's been on the trail about nine hours.
Dude is a hard mofo indeed.
Mackey did it again. He crossed the finish line with 15 dogs at 11:38 am Alaska time today.
His overall time was 9 days, 21 hours, 38 minutes, 46 seconds for an average speed of 4.76 miles per hour.
Badass.
KICK ASS :hello2 :hello2 :hello2
Winning something like this comes from good training. So hats off to him for doing a shiat kicking good job of training him and his team so he could end up at the peak of the winners lineup.
