Hi all,
I'm getting the T ready for a 4-5K trip at the end of July. I've got her apart now replacing the steering head bearings (see other post). I've got some questions for this group about what I should be getting ready.
Bike has 44k miles. New to me but runs very strong.
Will be checking the valves and shimming as required.
Carb sync.
Replace plugs.
Noticed that the coils are Gills and look to be original. Should I replace these as a preventative measure?
Ordered a spare throttle cable and will route it along side of the current one so it will be 'easy' (?) to fix on the road.
Have already done a new chain and sprockets.
New chain slider and rub block.
New tires.
Any other spares I should be taking along?
Thanks,
Milton S.
I would go ahead and just replace the throttle cable in the warmth and comfort of the garage. Doing it in the field would truly suck balls.
When was the last time the brake fluid was flushed?
Bring an ignition trigger with you.
