:005: yep, while traving though Goleta/Santa Barbara. I was heading north and the plane was heading south. Saw a plane land on the opposite side of the 101. It landed on a VW golf. Amazingly, everyone walked away. http://www.independent.com/news/2009/au ... lands-101/ (http://www.independent.com/news/2009/aug/23/plane-lands-101/)
Headed up to Solvang. http://www.solvangca.com/ (http://www.solvangca.com/)
I hit 101mph on 101 fwy! I could not have survived it without my +6" Cee Bailey wind screen. Awsome!
Where there is a relatevly unknown vintage motocycle museum. The bikes are switched out every 4 months. Its pretty damn cool. I learned about it yesterday while i was at my dealer getting my tiger its 500 mile service. So, this morning ona spur of the moment I decided to head up north. It was well worth it. http://www.motosolvang.com/ (http://www.motosolvang.com/)
On the way back I hit HWY 150 to e.Ceilo to Painted Cave rd. Painted cave road was insanely twisty. nearly all 1st gear. I should have stayed on E.Ceilo. That way I would have gotten a great view of santa barbara below. but nooooooooo i had to hit the 101 south. So I was stuck in bumper to bumper due to the plane crash. So I got to practice my lane splitting. The bike does it well.
Then i hit up the Lake Casitas Pass. HIgh SPeed corners and straights. Lots of fun. The hit route 33 east. Into Ojai, Hand Lunch at Bocellis. Then east on the 126. Turned right onto route 23. The first 5 miles all up hill at very twisty ;).then freeways home. It was a good day. The bike handled like a champ. I Killed a lot of bugs today!
Ran out of gas???? I see some certificate action soon for the pilot.
