Ditto to what EB said....those are probably the best for me too in that order.
+ 3 the 17th or 24th only unfortunately.
After all I was in Jasper last year one week before ya'll were there. Dont ask me why.
Have a cherry TOR pipe I can bring along E.B.?
Looking forward to riding through Buffalo River again.
Hey Kat Whackers....
If you want to join us... and have some dates to suggest....
Fire off a note to 'Let's Go' Jim:
trophy1298@hotmail.comHe's organizing this thing..
There will be camping and hoteling!
I see new names.... that's always a good sign!
Anxious to hear more details!
So is this a ride in Friday, camp / motel / cabin for the night... Saturday ?, then ride home Sunday?
Betty...
If you don't make it to Jasper, Arkansas....
YOU'RE A PUSSEY!
Send a note to 'let's go' jim:
trophy1298@hotmail.comI guarantee there will be MORE Nebraska Tigers than from anywhere else!
I thought I already did. I got an email back that was sent to about 5 or so people.
Getting prepped for the journey. Got my panniers back. Have a MRA Vario, and have my seats sent off to Spencer for modification. And should have an AlaskaLeather butt pad showing up any day. Probably overkill for a short road trip, but one less thing to worry about :)
As soon as we get the details I'll know for sure. Got to plan around work, daughter's school, soccer, and girl scouts this time of year :(
Bring the Scouts down....
Tell 'em take a hike and you'll see them Sunday morning!
In fact... Marble Cave is 200 ft away...... 100 ft straight down and 100 ft
North on Hwy 7!
You'd be surprised at how many riders have brought their kids.
Look forward to meeting you!
Not sure if you set a date yet, but the 17th would be my best chance to make it. Kids in band competitions and a wedding the weekends before. Oh yea, "It snows here in October" so, hopefully that won't be a problem. Might even bring my father-in-law and his V-Strom if I can paint some stripes on it!
Some of the folks at the MI ride in were talking about returning to Japser AR this fall for a little gathering. I've checked with the Hub and the only
weekend that is open in Oct. is the weekend of Oct. 23 and 24th.
So.... if anyone is interested let me know. I'm planning on going down on the 22nd. Probably ride over to Eureka Springs area (Cycle Gadgets, Buba's BBQ) on Friday. Saturday breakfast at the Cliff House Inn at 9:00 AM. Breakfast on the rim of the Grand Canyon of the Qzarks!! We can add to the agenda as we go, maybe a Friday or Saturday night bonfire at Shady Oaks if we get enough riders.
Following are web sites for lodging, camping and Cliff House. Be sure to check out the routes on the Hub site. Thinking about doing something like the Moonshine Route on Sat with a little variation to pick up a road by Alum State Park. Plenty of other great roads in the area so feel free to pick a differnt route.
The Hub motel and resturant: www.hubinfo.com (http://www.hubinfo.com)
Shady Oaks Capmground: www.camptheoaks.com (http://www.camptheoaks.com)
campsites, cabin, popup trailer about 1 mile from Hub Check with Terri for
avail.
Cliff House Inn: www.cliffhouseinnar.com (http://www.cliffhouseinnar.com)
food with a great view!
If your interested in some great riding or have any questions about the area let me know.
E-MAIL ME IF YOU PLAN ON COMING ! ! !

Not sure if I'll be coming alone, or if the better half will be riding in on her Buell Blast, or if we'll be 2 up on the Tiger.
How's everyone spend their day on this trip? I see lots of route maps on the HUB website. Any recommended for a couple of newer riders?
Betty ...
Just show up.....
We have maps and there will be plenty of riding....
We're planning on it for sure. We're just trying to figure out a few things before we go.
Trying to decide whether to stay at the Hub or the Cliff House Inn...
What route to take down from Kansas City...
And since we are on two separate bikes... intercom or no intercom. And if yes, then which one. If I'm going to spend some money on it I'd like it to be Bluetooth and work with my phone and my TomTom 510 as well. But that's probably a different thread :)
Betty...
You'll probably want to stay at the HUB....
Cliff House is 5-7 miles SOUTH of Jasper; The HUB is about 7 miles NORTH
of Jasper.
SOme folks will be camping at Shady Oaks, 2 miles from the HUB.
Most activities at the HUB or Shady Oaks.
There are a couple of chalets with 3-4 bedrooms that we can get... they are at the HUB. Very nice. I am working on that now.
Looks like I'll be riding down on my own bike while Patty will be following me down on her Buell Blast  . Guess I'll look at getting a King bed room at the HUB.
Betty...
One chalet is now full...
the 2nd one has 3 bedrooms (queen beds )...
I may be able to get that also.... there may be some
others interested..... they are very nice ... 100 ft from HUB !
We may have 2 people interested. If you say yes... I guarantee you will 'flip-out' . ... these are vacation homes.... not cabins.
Costs: Chalet #4 is $120 for 2 & $15 ea additional, 3 bedroom, 2 bath.
So for 4 people ( 2 single + one couple ) $165 per night total ($ 41.25 ea per night ).
These are really nice.... everything in them! Like a vacation home.
Small 'STREAK' of Tiger will arrive in Eureka Springs Fri Morning for B'Fast. We will 'diddle' around for awhile and work our way to Jasper.

So what are the riding plans for Sat, anyone have one set at this point?
I am hoping to come, and I think Brink and the Caponord may actually be around that weekend, so I might drag him along too. I probably won't leave till Sat morning though and might try to hook up for lunch with you all if I knew where you would be.
Jerry and Jim, I have you cell numbers so I may just call you that morning to see what the plans are as I head out of KC and sprint down there.
Jason in KC
Yeah Patty and I would like to have a better idea of "the plan" as well. We've never been to something like this before, so our plans at this point consist of riding down Friday and then staying at the HUB. We don't have a clue after that.
Betty...
One of the things that has made these Tiger gatherings a real success is that we do not schedule events other than meals and if something special is taking place. The reason: There is much to do and see. Some folks like to ride on their own some join a group. We have day rides and 1/2 day loops.
Many a Tiger rider has simply shown up and everything falls into place
and they love it. I guarantee.... you show up, you'll just join in. You'll see
some sights and gorgeous scenery.
You cannot ride all the roads in the area in a weeks time let alone 2 days!
Since this trip started as a "breakfast gathering", the only thing I have arranged is breakfast Sat. at the Cliff House. Looks like we have about a dozen riders so far who are planning on coming down. Most are staying at the Hub or one of the chalets by the Hub.
I will probably go down a day or two early and ride over to Eureka Springs on Friday and meet the group coming down from NE. We could all meet up at the Hub for supper on Friday evening. If that sounds ok, let me know and I'll arrange it at the Hub.
Sat. is breakfast at the Cliff House around 9:00am. After that....go riding!! There are plenty of great roads and routes to choose from so I'm sure there will be groups taking different trips.
I don't have any plans for Sat night, so if anyone wants to suggest something let me know. If you have questions about the area let me know and Ill try to help.
E mail me at: trophy1298 at hotmail.com
Understood!
Ok, We should have beautiful weather for this thing. Heading to Lincoln Thursday and then will be at the Hub Friday afternoon. Hope to see you all there. Ride safe!
We're planning on leaving KC just before noon and cruising down :)
Right now.... looks like 13-14 riders coming down to Jasper...
'Let's Go' Jim says, think I'll go down to the Cliff House for breakfast
(10+ hour ride ). I says, "Maybe we can get some riders to meet us!"
Jims says, "Yeah, they could do that!"
So here they all are gittin ready to ride in cold rain for a few days in the sun. Pert neer hard to grasp!
Innyone else care to join us: This Sattyday mornin:
Cliff House just a bit south of Jasper . . . Arkansas that iz.
A last minute IN.
300 miles to the HUB.
I called HUB and plenty of rooms left. I would split a room if anybody else is riding down solo.
Should be there 7-8pm depending on when I get out of here.
Looking forward to it. :D
Same here! We fought some last minute technical difficulties, but we'll be leaving around 9:00 AM tomorrow with about 6 hours driving time, but I'm sure we'll be pulling over a lot :D
We're here!

Did you make it down, Jason?
Nope, wish I could have, but too many things to do this month. I did however nearly finish my shed, to make room for all of my current two wheeled toys and maybe a couple more at some time. I saw the pics, and knew it was a great day for riding, and it looked like you all had a good time.
:5huh
Sorry about the previous post. Don't know what happened. I met many of you in October. I was on one of the blue Trophys
My name is Tim. I am producing the Ozark Mountains RAT Raid and would love to see many of you there.i You know it is a fantastic place to ride and a great location. Check in will begin on Thursday evening and again on Friday. The days are free for riding with many routes laid out for you if you want. Meet and greet on Thursday and Friday nights. Catered banquet on Saturday night(bring your kilt) in the convention center on-site at The Hub with lots of prizes and a few awards for various things. Take a look at the website(www.ozarkratraid.com (http://www.ozarkratraid.com)) and consider joining us in April. Click the link for The Hub to see the accommodations and get your rooms reserved. Camping is also available. All of the sponsor links are clickable as well. Please spread the word about this event. Registration forms are already coming in.
Hope to see you there.
Tim-
Cool!
I got your PM. Yes Engle Motors is the Local Triumph dealer, but since I've never bought a bike from them and I do most of my own bike work, I'm probably not the one to go asking for RAT participation :)
I'm definitely adding this to my calendar!
I will contact them. Just wondering if they are "participators" in the sport or just owners of a dealership. Our local dealer is very hands on and an avid rider. He will be there but don't try to keep up. Very few can.
Glad we were able to run into each-other last Oct.
Do us a favor and post a new topic for the raid so that all the information and web link is not lost at the bottom of the old Jasper thread.
Great event website of the Ozarks hidden gem. I have been to this area twice and still not ridden all the routes. Hope to see you there!
