Not just her, but the whole Triumph/Tiger package...well, other than the new ones...

Brought a tear to my eye when I hit the submit button.  Ah, what am I worried about...nobody wants this thing anyway.  I'm just doing it to earn some brownie points with the wife.

How did you get 21/18 rims?  Are they stock hubs with different rims laced?

Geof

Yes.  Got the hubs and sprocket carrier used at Baxters, then had East Coast Wheels lace the rims on them (1.85x21 and 2.75x18).  Then I got all the extra stuff on ebay - brake discs, cush drive, new sprocket.  I think the whole package was around $1500 by the time I was done...

Worst part was East Coast Wheels packed up and moved part way through the project...didn't happen to mention it to me.  Had an advrider guy swing by their shop and they were gone!  Eventually I found a post on thumpertalk with a phone number in it...called them up.  Took me almost 8 months to get them - thank dog I didn't send them my stock rims!!

Oh no!!! That bike is a keeper. You will never get enough for it. You are in it way to much and it is so unique. Don't do it. ( unless you really have to) :(

Come on, it's not like it's a Girly...

Maybe I'll keep it.  Mod it up.  That'd be fun.

Great bike!  Makes me miss my '95 Tiger that much more!  Why'd I have to sell it at 50k miles, anyway?  I shoulda put a new shock on it and farkled the crap out of it like you've done and ridden it until the wheels fell off.  Dang i miss that thing now...

Post by: Mudhen on January 29, 2010, 10:22:54 PM
No, thanks anyway, though Z.

I'm thinking I may re-farkle a bit and sell my 640 instead.  Maybe go for more of a Patrick bike...simplify, and add lightness...

As for mods the only thing I could dream of adding would be the bomber skid plate.

Mudhen, Do you still have the Steamer for sale?  Have you decided you can't part with it?   And I missed it in the thread.

Sorry for not getting back to you, DD...was waiting on a guy about my 640.  Yesterday he said he wanted it so I think I'll be keeping the Steamer.

Probably sell that front fairing piece, though...in case anyone reading this is interested.

Title: Subframe?

Hey there, you mentioned a subframe in the initial post. Maybe a dumb question here, but subframe as in something someone could mount a hack to?

Oh man...if I had something like that it would already have a hack on it.

No, this is just the front subframe that the guages, etc attach to.  Picked it up on ebay in case mine ever got so out of whack I couldn't bend it back...

Good to hear that you are keeping the Steamer.  Those KTM's are a dime a dozen    and your Tiger is one of a kind.

Keep tearing it up on the Tiger but if you ever feel the urge to sell it again, get in touch we me as I would love to have it.
