It was a cold, wet Friday morning when I left my home in the country. I stopped to take the first picture not far from my home only to find out that I forgot my wife's camera.....sooooooo I pulled out my Crackberry and YOU, my friends, can enjoy some really, really bad looking photos!!!
It was just above freezing and the roads were wet, ice was random so dirt roads were really nice this morning. About 30 miles into the trip I decided to turn on my heated vest only to find out it had stopped working. Hmmm, tested everything last night..... Ended up in a Missouri Radio Shack before I checked it out and found it to be a bad cable. Widder doesn't support this anymore as they are no longer in business so I chopped the end off and made my own. Of course I didn't need it anymore.....It was in the upper 40s as the sun was going down and I had my winter riding gear on anyway and my stay for the night was close by. The vest is just nice because it keeps you toasty and I'm just a girly man...I don't ride a Harley and wear a handkerchief over my face......
First stop not far from home I got some photos of our neighborly farmland. I do love our flatlands for their beauty.
Still outside the Twin City Metro area.
They are not bad at all, the colour set gives them an almost vintage flavour.
Some Iowa Farmland. Plenty of nice dirt roads on this trip going through the farm country.
Mizery Roads
Soooooo, a cold October day and I come across some sort of horror film fantasy? I had to check this out!!!
Turned out to be an old abandoned church named "Campground Church" I couldn't tell if the cemetery was still used or not...These stones were 1840's
Beautiful Misery. Northern Missouri is gorgeous. Full of rolling hill after hill and single lane bridges. Saw only a couple other people on my route.
I came across a lot of these beautiful signs on this route. Gorgeous, muddy (deep mud) roads. :naughty I was glad to have my TKCs this trip even if they were a little worn out already. These roads were like gumbo. :ricky
I came across some kind of "Reserve" Seemed to be a man made lake. Spotted a deer as well.
Back in Iowa headed north. It was a gorgeous trip. Pretty boring from here so I didn't take anymore pictures. I hope you enjoyed this short little ride. All in all a little over 900 miles.

I felt like it was going to snow all morning so the color isn't too far off. The ole Crackberry worked out though!
Pretty good pics, a lot better than my stupid phone's camera.
I must admit it was nicer than carrying around a bulky camera. However, the pics could have been a LOT better.
Nice pix.... Next trip just upgrade the phone.... :D
And come a little father over to Kansas City next trip. I'll buy you a beer :)

That's got potential. I'm thinking about hitting more of Missouri next time. Kansas City would be nothing for a beer!

Make that 2 beers....now you have twice as much motivation to venture further into MO!
Where in MN are you?? I live down in Jordan... just picked up a 96 Steamer...
I'm just west of Chanhassen. Time for riding has been real tough so far this year. Trying to plan a trip on the Trans MN trail and I can't get a firm date because of my work schedule. I'm taking the trip with one of my employees and between working him to death and my schedule being ridiculous it's been impossible to get our calendars together....arrrrgh.
I'd love to hear about your Steamer. 8)
