Title: Shock turns?
Post by: jphish on December 18, 2009, 02:52:54 PM
The owners manual gives confusing instructions for rear shock adjustment for rebound setting. It uses 'turns' & 'clicks' interchangeably. I set it at 6 clicks out - turns would have been at least twice as many rotations out as the clicks. Which is the correct ? Thanks, j

Forget the manual.  Go out to your favorite twisty road.  Back the adjuster all the way out (fast rebound) and ride it briskly.  You will notice the bike wallows in the corners and feels like it has a hinge in the middle of the frame.  Turn it in by half turns until this feeling goes away and the chassis tightens up.  Your done.

If you ride off pavement, you may adjust it a bit faster for those conditions.

Thanks sasquatch - I'll try the 'test proceedure' and get it dialed in. j
