Title: Silver and Green Sports Screens
Post by: EvilBetty on January 15, 2010, 12:56:19 AM
Unless I'm loosing my mind, these are actually OEM Sports Screens for a Girly.

They are listed as Speed Four Seat Cowls.  I was going to snipe one and repaint it... but who am I kidding.  Hopefully someone with a matching bike can catch a deal.

I think they are seat cowls not windscreens ........ 8)
need to see from different angle , but I'm pretty sure they are not screens

If they are they are suprisingly similar to a Girly sports screen.

I think this is a Speed Four seat cowl.

LOL... a profuse knowledge of Google is nothing to bow down to :)

If no one is interested I may still bid on one.  If you want one let me know
and I'll refrain from bidding against you :)

I bought one recently for my UK Girly, only thing is, they fit backwards!

What I mean is the bolts go through from the back to the front, unlike the standard screens which bolt from the front.

I haven't looked yet to see what you have to do to fit it as we are just getting rid of the two foot of snow we've had for the last two weeks!

So what's the verdict.  Looks like sports screen to me.  Im interested in Silver one.  Will probably bid near end of auction

It's a very expensive piece of plastic that I'm glad I own.

Alright, I'll stay away from the silver one :)

I plan on sniping the green one unless someone else wants it.  I see these come up all the time in green and yellow...  some day.. maybe a Lucifer orange one will appear?

EB-green and orange go together........kinda.  Actually just paint it black, I think that would look fine.

Thanks for the find

Go for it EB they look really cool on

Yeah that's my plan... paint it black until I get enough parts to justify the cost of the Triumph ED.

I'll probably go for one also. What color do you want? I've got a yellow Girly so I'm painting either way.

There have been lightning yellow ones in the UK a lot lately...

Just checked though and I don't see one currently listed.

Decided to look for a chopped stock screen instead. Anyone got one for sale?

Alright, then I'm sniping the green one... Stay away! :D

Hey EB, I did not see any bids going for the green one. I would like to have the silver one (7 more min), since I have a 2005 silver Tiger 955i. Sounds like these things will fit our model.

Thank god!  Snipped that lil green bastard with 3 seconds left

Saw the silver one had 3 bids.

I emailed the guy and asked him if he was including any mounting hardware.  I don't have a clue how these attach.

Well I thought you knew these things fit the Tiger! :) I hope we will just take the existing screws and thread them from the inside into the screens. We will see if the holes line up. If not, I'll sell mine for $30 next week - ha!
Let me know how it works out, I assume you'll get yours quicker.

Ya if you look through the thread someone else had already called dibs on it to try to prevent us from going into a bidding war with each other.

Yes I was fairly certain they fit the tiger, which is why I posted them here, but I'm not sure how the mounting system works.  Not sure if they were supplied with longer screws (which are not included) or other kit.

Yeah I am new to this forum, but not to free enterprise. The only bid was days old, so you said you "might" get in at the end. I saw no bids on the green one, but I would have to repaint it and EB said CLEARLY to stay away from that one - now that is a clear statement.

Maybe it will not fit mine and you can have it after all.

These screens will fit any 1999-2006 Tiger.

All is fair in love and EBAY
that's the ebay way you bid and hope you get it , it's an auction ................if you want it bad enough you pay for it with higher bids , that's how ebay works .

I agree and I'm not mad at anybody here, but as a general rule it would be cool if we could discuss an action here and not get in a bid war with our friends.

If you do, you probably shouldn't post back that you did it :)

At least the Faux auction style on ebay can limit your bid, as its really down to who adds an extra $1 at the last split second.

Our ebay equivilant is called Trade-me. And it works on a true auction format.... although there is a closing time for each auction if someone bids in the last 2minutes then the auction extends by 2mins to give others a chance to think about upping their bid... I think this gives sellers a better price, but on popular auctions it means they can drag past their closing times.
..... going...going...for the third and final time......sold

Im not mad or bitter.  Im glad EB keeps posting all this stuff from Ebay and Craigslist.  If I wanted to give $50 for it, I would have.

I do know how an auction works.   Im at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale, AZ right now.  Watch it live on Speed all week.  Oh and I bought my house at auction........and over 100 cars including one on Ebay!!!
