IT as in Information Technology. Just curious.
Not me. For what it's worth, I reckon most Tiger riders are engineers.
My gut feeling is you're right.
nope, just a plumber.
Yep, I'm run a team of IT and comms engineers 8)
Maybe I should make a poll?
Nope.
Engineer through and through!
Mechanical Engineer of course!
IT would be too difficult for me. ;>)

Marine Engineer (Jack of all Trades Master of None) - although if I'm honest that means more IT than I really like these days
Not since the early to mid 90's.
Yep... I'm a Database Administrator...
Work, what's that? I'm retired.....and loving it.
FWIW, I work in IT. I write code.
IT guy here... I'm sure my signature didn't give that away at all.
I won't try to explain my job... not even to fellow IT'ers unless beer and some free time are available.
Lets just say I use Google... a lot. I'm sure that's a surprise to anyone who sees my spams.
When I did IT training, 30 yrs back, it was all ticker tape and mechanics. But spent most of my time since in marine electronics.... and wireless.

Very Sad  "127.0.0.1 Sweet 127.0.0.1"
EB well chosen for the amount of time you spend scouring Ebay  shouldn't wind you up too much, it's been a great help to some guys. Any chance you can find me a 675 Street engine for less 1k?
Researcher in plant genetics.
Nope, full time carer
macgart I think IT and plumbing are probably closely related, but then that's just me.
Seems we have a majority of engineers at least on this thread? I was just curious.
I'm manager of forty-odd military comms / IT installation specialists ... until the end of next week anyway. Then I'm hoping for a good summer in which to get used to retirement!!!
How I ended up in IT I can't quite explain as I'm time-served as a machine tool setter/operator with additional experience in heavy drive gear systems, liquid cooling systems and air conditioning. Oh, and aircraft arrestor systems (cables and nets).
Bob, does that make you an engineer AND an IT guy?
Network Engineer and manager of an IT Operations team. 23 years - I'm tired of it! :D
Well, I'm a drama teacher and playwright. I reckon playwrighting's a bit like plumbing, too. I haven't looked inside an engine since I took the cylinder head off my Francis-Barnett 175 in 1963.
Oh yeah, plumbing... some days I feel like Norton from the Honeymooners. :D
I may be returning to law enforcement soon since the construction biz is in the toilet these days.

How did a banker make it to this forum?
I'm work for a bank, but I ain't no banker :)
Automation engineer, robotics and simulation.
IT is the toolbox.
Electrician aka sparky aka wire jerker
i do what jetdocx does 8). although, i wish i drove a snow groomer - or a zamboni :)
Sales. Have been near all my life. Now it's new cars. Back in the day, I did a stint repairing microwave ovens and other large appliances, but they got cheaper than the repair, so disposable.
I tried to learn IT, but was too old at the time, and had no time to devote to the learning process, as I needed to pay bills.
Kinda glad I stayed away, seems rather cutthroat.
Cosmo
Forest engineer. But do not work in the forestery business any more. Miss it. Now a production manager in a small company.
BB, maybe your unique training has all been well planned.
"The computers broke what do we do Sgt."

Nah, Royal Air Force. Used to make aircraft components, got into IT when computer aided machining took off in a big way in the 80s. Then did a long stint as mech engineer on air defence radars; the arrestor gear is fitted to all of our fast jet runways. Either arrestor nets:
http://www.amsafe.com/products/detail.p ... e=business (http://www.amsafe.com/products/detail.php?id=44&type=business)
Or RHAG (rotary hydraulic arrestor gear) a steel cable streched across the runway that fast jets can hook in an emergency. I could bore you for hours.....
I own a company that provides low voltage installations which includes networking......
I'm a Java developer
I own a restaurant - IT is foreign to me!
The "it" sector? is that like someone who works for Guchi bags, or some famous fashion marvel Stiletto Heels for woman?
What is the "it" of today anyway.... Im so out of touch with what's "it"/"cool" much less what is in "vogue"
Maybe I need a different kind of bike. Those who are really into needing to be the "it" of the party.... aint my kinda crowd :D

Welcome to the future... look at all the fun we have with Tuneboy.... :ImaPoser
I wish it wasn't so, but the only way to avoid it is to run an old(ish) bike. But if I'm having too good a time, and am happy and carefree and need a stress fix, I go tinker with my old 350 2-stroke. I love the smell but boy is she temperamental... :?
But yet you probably know all about java...
Coach.. don't take it too hard mate, I thought "IT" meant
Into Tigers..... and I've only got one
