Title: If it sounds like a twin...
Post by: Nick Calne on October 24, 2010, 10:59:48 PM
...is it running on two cylinders?

Started the bike today, and it was running poorly and sounded like a kawasaki er-5.  Which was disappointing.  Spluttered along for a mile or so, then went back to normal.

Everything seems ok now but was going to check it over. Any thoughts on what might be the source?  Just had it serviced inc valves a few weeks back and was totally A1 til today.

Lots of posts here on the stock coils going out.  When they first start to go,  they tend to sputter at low RPM at first but OK at high RPM.   Also get worse as the bike warms up.    Search on 'coils'.  Lots of info.
