Title: Header Bolt Function
Post by: 97tiger885 on February 22, 2011, 09:22:27 PM
Each of the header pipes on my '97 has a bolt head sticking out the front.  Anybody know why those are there?  Best guesses here are 1. allows access for diagnosis of exhaust gases for individual cylinders and 2. headers are shared by various models and allows for chrome stuff to cover up the pipes.   Anyone?

With a good carb balancer you can achieve the same result by adjusting the pilot airscrew as you would normally do with the throttle balance screws. Lean the screw in till max mg is met then back off a quarter turn.
