Title: Fallen Tiger (new footpeg required)
Post by: andyb30 on March 14, 2011, 02:01:24 PM
Hi All,

Ive been lurking here for a short while but never posted. Unfortunately i fookin dropped the tiger (05 955i)   at the weekend snapping the right hand side footpeg and bar end. Ive managed to fix the bar end with a new bolt but still need a new footpeg. Does anyone know where i can get one from without going to the dealer? I reckon that might be more expensive than it needs to be.

Cheers

Buell pegs as  here (http://www.triumphrat.net/tiger-mods-and-bolt-ons/62308-hey-tall-dudes.html) work very well and are cheap.

I did the same last year but on the left,as luck Ian Soady got me out of the soft and smelly, but I also had to get a rear footpeg as well, but both do turn up on ebay, there have been a few broken bikes on there of recent.

Re the bars!!,not a mark on mine,Touratech bars  :D

Ha, yeah, ive always thought the crash bars are expensive and maybe unnecessary.........maybe ill have to rethink that one

Thanks for the welcome guys and ill have a look. I reckon ill put the rear one up front for now.

I've got this in-built dread of dropping the Girl.  Partly explains the pantomime at the ford last year.  I oscillate between not wanting to scratch her shiny paint and wanting to be more adveturous with the riding.

Maybe I should just go outside and kick her onto her side and get it over with

you should try throwing it down the road at 30 mph after a highside ...........thats always fun . and then have to ride it home all bent up for 350 miles .(http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee47/2uoykcuf/emoticons/bug_eye.gif)

Mustang,
I notice Triumph online are selling what they call "Mustang pegs", are they from you, or perhaps copies?

Crashbars or bungs are a must especially with that sticky-out tank that is soooo dear.
Hit a horse last year and hi-sided into the ground at 60mph and the bars definately saved alot of the bike, even so, the insurance rip off repairers wrote it off anyway, went from a 885 to a 955 so good turnout in the end. :D
