Title: Minor up grades: '06 955i
Post by: TigerTrax on May 30, 2011, 11:09:25 PM
Well after 2 months of being somewhat stripped down I have the Tiger
'growling' again. AND.. she has some convenient improvements.

1. As you know, I LED'd everything. Now I can easily see my blinker
indicator in sunlight with sunglasses on!  My instruments are much
    brighter ... tiger pi*s green!
2. I sent to Eastern Beaver ( located in J-A-PAN) my order for
handlebar mounted AUX light switch ( matches Tiger switches ) and rest
    between RH switches & mirror support.  I also ordered a OFF-HI-LO +
KILL handlebar switch; Nestles perfectly between left switches and
mirror support.  ( Kill switch will be converted to PTT for walkie talkie or
    portable CB.
3. Wired for 2nd powerlet for tank bag.
4. Twisted Throttle  mirror extenders: **NOTE.. if you have looked at
these and said "I should get these."  GET THEM NOW!  Wish I'd have
    done it 8 years ago.
5. Installed DATEL battery voltage readout. At highway speed: 13.9V.
    - Turn on heated grips: drops .4 volts then comes back up.
    - Turn on aux lights: On occasion it drops .1 volt
    - Turn on hi beam: No change.

I'm presuming that if my battery is at 13.8 volts that means my alternater is juicing about 14.1 - 14. 4 volts and I'm losing a few points in the middle.
( Yes I have the Stretch mod)

Reworked some existing wiring, made it neater and clean looking.

Thanks TT.  30 secs on Google found these in the UK but, as usual, we're getting rolled on the price:

Try triumph-online.co.uk for these switches. priced at £14.99 and £19.99 respectively, which i didn't think was too bad a price.

Brad...
LED place in St Louis is in Earth City on the main
road running N-S...  EAsy to find.... HOWEVER...
signs say 'not a retail store'....

BUT... if you are going to St Louie....
you can place your order on line and pick up.

I did walk into the place and think I could have bought what I wanted.
They simply more set up for 'online' orders ( picking & packing ).

Hey TigerTrax- Thanks for the great info!  My bike is now glowing at the dash-boy it takes some work to get in there!  My 2nd go at it went much better than my 1st time around once I figured out to take the headlight assembly out.  Also swapped out the flasher & signals- right side needed the wires switched around.  These forums and the Haynes manual are the best thing for a new Tiger owner.  :thumbsup

Glad it worked out well. I think a 'crisper' and brighter lights is a good thing.

Have a great riding summer.
