Title: 04 Tiger Valve Adjustment
Post by: Dick Boyer on December 02, 2004, 12:56:09 AM
Anyone out there actually done a valve adjustment on their own? Do you really need that Triumph tool to remove shims? Its $155. cdn. Too much but cheaper than the 20,000 kms service. Also, where is the cheapest place to buy the Triumph Race Can. They are $450. cdn here. Thanks.

Just did mine.

No you do not need it.  Simply do all your measurements then pull the cams to get to the shims.  If you have never pulled cams and do not understand cam timing, tensioners, etc, you may want to have someone who knows what they are doing look over your shoulder.

Not hard though.  I am fairly experienced, and it takes me about 3 hours.
