I know alot of the bodywork works from the 955i to the 885i.  does the gas tank also work?

Timbox2

Yes, only caveat is the fuel pump plate. If the tank is off a later 955 and comes with the fuel plate/pump assy, you would have to swap over as the later 955's had a single fuel feed rail.

now you confused me, can I run my older 885i fuel pump and plate on the newer tank or will I also have to swap over to the newer fuel plate and pump assembly?

Sorry Timbox2, they didn't go to a single line feed until 2006. The '01-'05 955i tigers have a dual feed.

That's what Tims post says!!

All tanks are the same fuel pump only differs on the later version.

All tanks and plastics in those days where made by Acerbis but as the lead time was 6 months or more Triumph went off and did their own thing.

I just picked up a cheap '06 955i air box for my 2k 885i. I had do install a pcv style fitting for my crankcase hose, cut a second snorkle inlet, and make a size-up fitting for the drain hose on the right-hand-side. All said and done, it seems to be working well....and no blanking plate!  :wings
