Underneath not looking clever!

Have included pics below. Underside is looking a bit oily, and there appears to be some scum too :( diagnosis please from everyone - as you can tell, I'm not exactly mechanically minded!

On closer inspection, it's not 'scum' but just oil on the joint of the gear shift.

Difficult to tell   :P  first determine if its oil or antifreeze. If its oil and it ain't dripping or losing oil (within reason yes) its pretty much standard fare. If its antifreeze check your overflow pipe is correctly routed. If you losing coolant........
