Gonna do an oil change on my 96Tiger

What grade oil and how much does it hold?

also is the trans fluid separate and if so how many qts does it hold??

Change out the clutch fluid on the weekend seeing as when I opened the cap it was like rotten DEXCOOL in there.. you know the orange/rust colored goop.. nasty

I was told this bike was clean and well maintained when I purchased it, but being that the PO had it for about 2 months I am not sure just how honest the guy he bought it from was...

Sounds like the clutch is making noise when taking off from a start and seems louder in gear changes... flat spots in carbs, and now some hesitation/misses at low speeds....

The clutch, engine and transmission all share the same oil.

Four quarts.

I use Motul in mine, but any motorcycle oil should do just fine.  Oil is oil.  Lots of people get all balled up over this question and the answer is pretty simple.

Everyone prefers a different oil.  So long as it ain't cooking fat, take your pick :)

I use Shell Rotella T 5W-40, but it is a religious choice.

Valvoline 10W40 is what the Dutch import guru recommends.
Done about 10K kms with it and its fine.
