obviously needed changing..  :)

but, the replacement item is different to whats comming off.. the new one is dead flat, doesnt have the machined 'spacer' of the other.. is this correct? is the only way to chuck it back together and see if the chain run is too far off..?

it's fine ......the oem one has the rubber on it to help cushion / quiet the chain , replacements seldom to never have the rubber cushions .

mine have been using aftermarket flat ones like the one on the right for 70,000 miles

:oops:  thanks.. I 'remembered' after posting this that I has the same thing on my Thunderbird when I used a non-OEM front sprocket...
