Is it really an adventure bike if its wheels never see dirt?

Spain won`t register modified bikes into their system, has to be a totally standard bike, as it came from the factory, or else i would take it with us.
So as mine is "slightly"  modified, i`ve got no chance of registering it.
I`m looking for another Tiger once we get there, probably a 1050.

rybes

How is yours modified? Can't ya put it back to standard then swap it all back once it's registered?

Forks, wheels, brakes, crash bars,  handlebars, footrests, end cans, clutch/brake levers, hand guards, brake/clutch lines, mudguards, seat, paint job,the list goes on............. :icon_lol:

Haven`t you followed the thread?  :icon_biggrin:

Yeah I did when you first wrote it. That was long ago thought. Do they really pic on paint too?
If I were closer to Spain I'd bring my tiger down and I'd swap the bits of mine you need to get it registered then swap it all back when ya get ya paper work

Thanks for the offer mate, but it needs to be back to standard every year for the ITV (mot), too much hassle!

Be easier and cheaper to buy a standard bike when we get there, and i`ve always fancied a 1050 if i can find a good one.

rybes

:bug_eye no bike modification? Why the hell are ya moving there :icon_lol:
Oooo a 1050 I've always liked them too

Not really, you`re allowed to have a UK vehicle for 6 months in Spain, then either register it in Spain or you have to leave the country with it, then you can`t bring it back for a certain ammount of time (can`t remember exactly), then insurance can be a pain, and back to UK for MOT, much easier to buy a Spanish bike,  just too much hassle.

I'd be all over a Tiger Sport myself if I had money for a new bike.
I may not be big, but I'm slow.
