Hello, this rain is unbearable, mud bank in the chain, pants dirty, dirty bike ... and dirty clothes to work is bad! mud in the top case etc. I really wanted to know if I buy a hugger will solve the problem? seen in forums people say that a hugger not last a great trip!? I am considering buying a redfox effect of carbon fiber, the redfox site for $ 75 the red fox are good? I see people say that the skidmark (think that's the name) and NWS seen comments that broke after 300 miles?  will not be squeeze the Hugger a lot in fitting? put some washers, be a good idea? to give more space between the plastic and the chain or tire, to prevent damage? too much weight on the bike can help damage the hugger? thanks

I have been looking at huggers too, and found a Carbon fibre at not a bad price but more than the c/f effect you found

but this design is NWS, say tighten the clamp to the swingarm is difficult and tends to escape. this design is a bit bulky. and 100% CARBON hugger I do not like, is fragile. only one carbon hugger effect is nice and cheap

but then the hugger did not work? was supposed to stop the mud underneath the bike! but it's worth the $ 100 + - per hugger or more worth saving the money for other things?

then it will be like in my drawing? the red part is the affected area and green area is not affected? thank you

Tigertriple

I have a Skidmarx carbon fibre hugger on my Tiger and also a front fender extender and a rear mudguard extender.

Here is the link for the rear mudguard extender which is a genuine Triumph part. It keeps the crap of the back of the bike quite well.

Hi KK, don't mean to open up another can of worms re my favourite part supplier Triumph online. I should mention that I bought a Skidmarx hugger from them when I first bought my Tiger. I had to send it back as it didn't fit properly. There was a gap of around 10mm between the rear of the hugger and the swinging arm. Pretty much a waste of time fitting it.

The carbon fibre one I have now is a perfect fit and is also made by Skidmarx   maybe TOL had a dodgy batch

good photo! and what's your verdict? worth the money hugger? protect enough of the mud? and water splashes?

PeteH

That NWS huggers the same as mine...didnt thing the 885 would fit the 955 cast wheel??
As for protecting against crud, yeah it does...sort of, but dont expect too much. What it will do is stop your shock from getting crud on it, especially the damping screw.
