Just a note here.  A recent issue of Motorcycle Consumer News had a letter about the Shell Rotella syn.   They replied it was just fine for motorcycle use.

Yep - I don't think it's the oil. Bunch of guys I know are running Rotella Synthetic just fine.

I'm going with worn and glazed clutch plates. Adding that to my winter to-do list. That may be where I'm getting all this "feedback" at rpm. Hard to stick your ear down there at 90 mph!
