This weekend is organised in association with 'South East Biker' magazine which is distributed FREE in 'bike shops, cafés and the like throughout South East England - have a look at their web site for full details. We've put together an itinerary for this Introductory Tour of Normandy (& Brittany!) which we think you'll enjoy!
You'll meet Nick and Debbie of S.E.B. in Portsmouth on the Tuesday night and cross the Channel on the LD Lines 11.00pm boat, arriving at Le Havre at 8.00 the next morning (the cost of your return ferry crossing with a bed in a shared cabin is included in the cost of this tour).
We'll be meeting you around 10.00am in the town of Villers-Bocage in the Normandy department of Calvados: after a coffee and introductions, we'll take you to some of the D-Day sights up on the 'invasion coast'. These will include the British cemetary and museum at Bayeux, 'Omaha Beach' and visitor's centre as well as a few 'surprises'. We arrive here at La Daviais around six (after taking in one of our favourite routes!) in time for a shower/beer/dip in the pool followed by one of our infamous four course dinners.
Over the next three days, we'll take you to the world famous Mont-Saint-Michel, one or two other lesser known D-Day sights, a couple of medieval fortified towns, some fabulous restaurants and all on some of the most enjoyable roads you'll ever ride!
There'll be various entertainments going on each evening from a pool tournement, a bike quiz and one evening we'll also hold our Scalextric Digital Grand Prix: an event we're pretty certain you'll enjoy! Finally, we'll also offer you, the chance to come karting with us at some point - thrills, spills and laughter guaranteed! On Sunday morning, you'll load your bike up and Nick will lead you back to Le Havre to catch the 5.00pm ferry back to the U.K. to arrive in Portsmouth at around 9.30pm
We'll be riding at a pace to suit the whole group, but we use a very 'marking system' which is a very simple yet effective way of ensuring that no-one gets lost or left behind, regardless of the experience of individual riders or the size or type of the various bikes taking part. This tour will be suitable for those of you who may not have previously ridden on the Continent and is great way to get used to 'riding on the wrong side of the road'. We take regular coffee/sightseeing breaks so no-one should feel overstretched or pressured to ride at a pace with which they feel uncomfortable.

To secure the ferry bookings, the final date for booking for this tour is 25th March 2011
N.B. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings taken for this event if we have received fewer than six reservations by this time.
