Any wisdom available on pulling the engine out of the 06 Tiger; solo?

Floor jack is a must. Solo jobs always go better with a jig either made out of metal or wood. Purpose of the jig is to support the awkwardness of weight, control of the engine in/out, and not damaging the pan. Your jig (or separate jig) may include a method to keep the bike straight up by "chocking the rear wheel" or use of a some type wheel stand.

bike on bike lift (harbor freight)
straps to ceiling joists to support frame
ATV jack with cradle under oil sump (on bike lift)
raise ATV jack until motor is supported
lower bike lift and the frame stays where it is, motor and ATV jack drop down with lift

got a bunch of pics somewhere, replaced frame solo, took 3 weekends
