Yes, I was thinking about this exact thing yesterday. I think the tiger is the Landrover of bikes, plush, big, powerful, well built, (Genuinely) British, and importantly, practical and capable. I love my tiger more than I should!  :oops:

I always compared my GS to my Discovery...way too heavy, way too slow, much better on the street than where I try to take them, and they're both BMWs.  Oh, and both absurdly expensive for different reasons (GS because of regular maintenance, Disco because of reliability).



Maybe you mean the Tiger compared to a Defender...that would make me feel a lot better...

Jeez, I sure hope not. Landrover consistently ranks at or near the very bottom of the JD Power automotive quality ratings. Last year they edged out everyone to claim the not-so-coveted 29th out of 29 places.



Anyhoo, I think if el tigre had a pair of extra wheels, he might be a Subaru rally car. Does it all with gusto and doesn't cost a fortune. (Disclaimer--I'm still in love with my WRX.)

The Winnebago of the bike world would be the Goldwing. Or that huuuuge BMW with the vanity mirror in the top box (K1200LT or summat?).

Actually, Jaguar came near to top in the JD Power survey. So an injection of Ford cash did them alright.

Dear ChrisN I stand corrected and sit here with head hung low for suggesting such a miscarraige of justice and slander on such a noble creation as the dear ol' bantam

My old Bantam , the much esteemed 175 well was old and creaky but it was mine and at the time I thought I was the coolest thing in the world on it along with my wrangler bell bottom jeans and me old manx leather jacket and purple doc martins and matt black skid lid .

And so I humbly withdraw my previous comparison and am off to make a cup of tea while me bonce is filled with fond memories of my totally misspent youth

And then I grew up moved to america and bought a triumph 650 tiger and  made a chopper out of it and so began a long love affair with tiger's of all vintage including me latest one, so here ya go for your viewing pleasure,  a rather young Mr Zombie taken many moons ago with his really long unstable well hard chopper
