Bike lift for Girly

I've just bought one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251200195105?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 specifically for the Matchless as I find grovelling around on the garage floor a bit difficult these days. It struck me it would be handy for the Tiger as well but I'd need to build some sort of cradle (probably out of wood) to avoid lifting on the exhaust. Anybody done anything similar?

The lift (although inevitably made in China) does seem quite a good bit of kit and well put together.
