My mirror stems look a bit tatty and before I start repainting them I was wondering if any others would fit as even if I repaint mine I still see more of my elbows than the traffic behind,i've seen street/speed triple ones on the net and wondered if they would be any good also would the tiger 800/1050 ones be better? Any info appreciated.

Any 10mm metric mirror will fit, best to get some mirror extenders they're not expensive and work a treat.

I've been looking at 10mm mirrors on ebay but it was the angles of the stem I was worried about, when you say about mirror extenders do you mean the type that extend the length of the stem or the brackets that extend from the handlebar mounts outwards?

I have the ones that extend out, the others I have no experience of. Mine came from China and cost a tenner

I placed either Aprilia or KTM mirrors on my bike and they angle out a bit better, while sitting lower.  way better visability.

I fitted the up and out extensions, I can now see properly behind, I recommend them

I installed Tiger 800 mirrors on some eBay wideners. These mirrors sit a little lower than original, but are wider & shaped better. BIG improvement - and look better to boot.

I bought speed triple mirrors a few years back for my 02. way better. Sit out further - better view of cars not elbows and as somebody else said - look better.
