Looking for opinions on shimming valves.
I checked the valve lash on my newly acquired Steamer today. The bike has 35K mis on it and since I had it all torn apart to rebuild the shock and fix the DAR it was a prime opportunity.
All the int are OK (spec .003-.004, mine are all .003 or .004, just one at .005).
All the exh are loose (spec .004-.005, mine are all .006 or .007).
Should I just let it go or should I pull the exh cam and re-shim them all?
I'm leaning towards just letting them ride as is.
Better loose than tight, right?
What's the worst that can happen besides a little extra valve clatter?

your specs are wrong

intakes = .004-.006
exhausts = .006-.008

Damn sure are. I multiplied when I should of divided.
Guess I'll let it ride for another year.
