Generally, I've only seen these available in the UK.

For those in the know from the right side of The Pond, what's your experience- hype, or worthwhile advantage over paper filter?

This is why we can't have nice things.

Advantage would be putting money in their pocket rather than the paper filter company pocket.

Are you clogging your present filter?

I love K+N and run them in all 4 of my bikes, but if I lived in a dry desert climate I'd probably run a stock filter.

No, OEM paper filters have performed just fine on my old Girly to date.

I noted a few on clearance for a bit less than I can get the OEM elements, and wanted to poll for general consensus on quality & reliability.

My order arrived yesterday for about $10 cheaper shipped compared to what it costs me to pick up an OEM paper filter locally.

It's a foam element, reusable (washable).  The elements seems substantial and robust, none of the voids noted when held up to the shop light as K&N's are likely to show.

I'll defer the claims of increased airflow benefits until I get a chance to install and use it for a bit.  When it's serviced, it uses a branded spray treatment, some cost ongoing there.  Lifetime warranty.

For anyone interested, there's at least one more on eBay US, fulfilled by an Idaho shop.  Looks like they're clearing the inventory of older model stock.
