I bought a 1996 Tiger two months ago with 15000 miles on the clock.

After about 1000 miles the gearchange became very noisy and jerky. Eventually, last Sunday, after a few miles the gear box sounded horrible and then it seized in second gear.

Any ideas? Local Triumph dealer say it will cost up to £1500 to repair as it involves splitting crankcase and rebuilding - ouch!

When cold gearbox sounds ok but within 30seconds of running it sounds nasty.

Turn it in for scrap and buy a new one. . .

Ouch, sorry to hear that.  Good luck on a solution.
