Hi all, first post and as a new 96 steamer owner, quite possibly a question asked a few times. She is fine in all gears upto 2.5k in 1st then 4k in all other gears and will not pull past that. Also on closing throttle met with plenty of pops and bangs. It's on mikuni, pipercoss filter and venoms. Cheers for advice.

Make sure the airbox under the seat has one of the intake snorkels capped and one open, or it will never run as it should.
It\'s ok , this will only take 5 minutes.

That's exactly what my Steamer ran like. Both snorkels were uncapped - blanked off the right-hand one and hey presto! Runs beautifully now...

The pipercross and venoms would mean that it would need rejetting of the carbs. Mustang has posted lots of info on jetting. Might be part of your problem.
