Hi All,

My rear Mich Anakee turned out to be hopelessly inadequate    for the this trip.  I will have to limp around the rest of Morocco and then replace it as soon as I get to Spain.  I will be crossing from Ceuta to Algeciras then heading for Granada.

Can anyone suggest where I could get the tyre?

Ideally, I want a Metz Tourance but I wouldn't say no to an Avon Distanzia.

Hi

Hope the trip is going well. There is a couple bike shops in Gibraltar that may be able to help although I can't remember the names but Gib is really small and its not hard to find them just ask locals.. We changed our tyres on the way down, from roads to knobblies there and they stored our road tyres for us seems to be a normal occurance for guys to do this. If I can find the name and contact number I'll post it here.. The guys there were really helpful as one of the boys needed new brake pads after Morocco and we called  them and they had them waiting for us.Good luck

Go to either Cadiz or Jerez there are decent shops in the both, they will be easier to find in Cadiz as the main high street runs parrallel with the sea front.

Thanks for that, chaps.  We overnighted in a hotel in Cadiz, on the way down, and I can remember seeing a Honda dealer on the road parallel to the prom'.  Gibraltar will prolly suit me better, though, as I shall need some more books to read.  If I have no luck there, I shall go on to Cadiz.

Many thanks  :D

There is a BMW dealer in Gibralter so they should be able to get things like Tourances etc which are also fitted to the GS range.

Thanks again.  We actually shifted ourselves and did some riding today.  Current rear is hanging on in there, I upped it to 50psi to help, but it will not get me home.  We plan to get the ferry from Tangiers to Gibraltar and get the tyre then.
