I got a copy of MCN today. Apparently according to MCN, Triumph arranged for some riders to test the new Tiger against the Varadero, GS 1200, Tiger 955i and Suzuke V Strom.  MCN managed to get there hands on a copy of the report, and the only thing good about the new Tiger is the engine. The riding position, suspension etc, etc is not very good and not up to the job. Believe it if you want to, personally I think I'll wait until the bike actually makes an appearance.

Cheers Clemski :P

Frankly, I just bought my 06 based on the spy shots of the 07.  I didn't want a style statement but rather something to ride.  It appears Triumph wants to go down the style path vs. the function path which has served them so well to date.  It started with the useless seat on the Speed Triple, bled over to the high, hot piped, assed Sprint ST and now appears to have infected the Tiger.  I wish them luck but I ain't buying stupid fashion statements that are functionally shite.  <sigh> Whatever!

I don't normally subscribe to MCN but this article interested me.

I got the impression MCN had got hold of "one" of the riders reports and not a summary of all riders or a general consensous of their opinion as a whole. Could it therefore not be possible that the other 4 riders had completely other different opinions ?

Could well be the case, I was speaking to someone who has just been on the factory visit and saw it, they said "it looks fantastic", and that Triumph are deciding whether or not to launch it with semi off road tyres or not. But like I say time will tell :P
