I've found tank panniers to be helpful on long rides. I'm 6'4" and run a chopped stock screen and mirror wideners I had the boys at school turn for me. The Corbin made a difference too.

Which tank panniers did you go with?  I'm deciding between the Mt. Suns and the Stitch or Happy Trails.  I'm leaning toward the Mt. Suns for capacity.  Traveling two up camping I'd like to keep my weight forward and low.  I used to be able to adjust the shock on the Beemer for the weight that was on the tail rack but with the Tiger I plan to keep it forward.  The Mt. Suns give plenty of that capacity I'm looking for.  I'm just concerned they will be too big for the Tiger tank.

Quote from: "HappyMan"Kind of looks like my garage right now since my RT still sits next to my new Tiger.  Nice pair!!!

Do you plan on selling the RT? I've found that I ride both.  The Tiger is for buzzing around town and the RT for the road. I can't ride the Tiger for more than an hour at speeds over 60mph. It beats the crap out of me. I've tried all kinds of screens. The sport screen is on there now, but I may order the biggest "barn door" Cee Baily's makes and try it.

Enjoy the new ride!

Keep me in mind if the sport screen goes up for sale.  If it's black that is...  :D

Quote from: "Chyron"Everyone is different, but the Tiger beats on me more than any bike I've ever had. I don't know if it's the wind coming around the small fairing or the wind hitting the tank and coming up my legs or both. Don't get me wrong, I love the bike, but the buffeting prevents me from taking any long trips on it. My head gets bounced around so much that I can't read road signs.

Conversely, my wife loves riding on the back and hates the buffeting see gets on the back of the RT.  Therefore, we have a problem  :D

I didn't like the buffeting when I got my Girly, but this screen cured it.

I've contacted Skidmarx to see if they sell it and ship to the US.  I'll let you know what I find out.

One unexpected bonus with this screen was that it's exactly the right height to clear my visor when it's raining.  The air coming over the top is rolling and so going straight down, blowing the rain vertically down off the visor from about 15 mph upwards.  I use a silicone polish on the visor which helps of course....

I was hoping my Vario would have shown up by this weekend but it looks like it will be next week.  I was able to chip away most of the ice and make a path to the end of the driveway this evening after some 34 degree weather this afternoon.  I laid down some salt tonight and I expect I'll be able to get out for a ride tomorrow if the weather holds out for me.  I guess I'll get a chance to see how bad the stock screen is....at least I hope I do.  Cross your fingers for me and maybe I can post some actual ride pictures!! 8)

so did you happen to get out this weekend? i was THIS close to pulling mine out and having a little go around the neighborhood.. us in the upper midwest have been getting a strange (but nice) heatwave this weekend. it was in the high 40s today. definitely warm enough for a short get-out.

i think today was my only chance though, since we're getting rain for the next couple days, then its supposed to get cold again.
Current Bike: 2005 Tiger in Silver.
Former Bike (also my first): 1980 KZ650

Stretch

65˚F forecast for tomorrow, and I have mine shrewn in bits across the garage, awaiting a backordered chain and sprockets.  I had a crunchy rear wheel bearing, so I had to disassemble anyway.

 Nope.  I could finally get out of the driveway but the roads were dripping with wet salt and I had a window of about an hour which didn't give me much time to ride and then get back, clean the salt off the bike and then get in my "dress up" clothes for the party I had to be at all day and evening.  Just got home.  Bummer.  I was really excited about a chance out but decided it wasn't worth pushing it considering the circumstances.  I will continue to be patient.  My driveway is now free of ice so all I need now is some time and dry roads....or just time.

I always keep a spare bike or two around for just such occasions.  I used to hate it when I'd tear a bike down and then get stuck without being able to ride.  Sorry you couldn't get out.  I'm still living vicariously through you guys that can still get out and ride!!

I received an email back from Skidmarx today.  They ship them from California and he said they have them still for the 06 though they are not listed on the website.  Around $99 plus shipping.  However, he sent me photos of the 07 Tiger with them on.  I asked for a clarification on whether they truly had them for the 06 and I have not heard back.  It's a nice looking shield.

Here is the email I received from him.  I don't want him spammed so here is his email address and you can splice it together.  sbd AT davidcork.com

Bare in mind he did not get back to me on a clarification of the availability on the 06 and earlier but his original answer was yes.  His pictures did not match.  He did not give any part numbers in the following correspondence I received from him:

Hi yes we do a tall is $99 and a D/Bubble is $105 we have clear light smoke and dark smoke you can call us to order at 530-587-8521 we are in California.
