G'day Riders

New owner here to say "thanks."  Your ride reports and banter helped to convince me to finally get my legs around a Triumph, something I've wanted to do for years.

BMW, Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc... been there, but each time I was eyeing steamers and girlies from a distance, and with awe.  Then, the 1050 is released.  Something was going to happen.  I just didn't know when.

Until I stumbled upon this ADVRider ad:

A phone call revealed Bob was a neat freak machinist and heck of nice guy.  Two more good signs.

The ad ate at me until one night I found myself drifting through the house unable to sleep.
The dog likes it when I free up bed space.

It was midnight when I decided...road trip!
Five minutes to pack, hook up the trailer, kiss the wife and I was gone.
Destination: Ventura, CA.  1001 miles roundtrip.
Forecast reads snow on the return.

Bumpy interstate kept me awake into Nevada.

Hunger and the miles caught up with me at Baker, CA.
A pit stop at the Mad Greek was the fix.  Open 24/7.

Road ragged, I thought to get a room.  Just not here.

Several hours later I arrived at Bob's showroom (garage).
We poured over the details and turning the key, she purred like a 1050 should.

SOLD!
Let's get her home!

And that's when the weather system closed in.
A little rain to start.

I wouldn't outrun it.
Where was the Bun Boy again?

I kept going with a little help.

Finally, a whiteout engulfed me only 60 miles from home.  Driving 15 mph for 60 miles in blinding snow while pulling a motorcycle was NOT fun.
Alas, I found the driveway.

Bob would freak if he saw that.
It would take me all of the next day to cleanse her.

So thanks again for your influence, riders.  I'll be back to do my part with pics of some fine southern Utah routes and curiosities as soon as the snow melts.
