King of the stupid question this week, but...

Has anyone completely replaced the bar mounts on their steamer with something like this:



I'd like to get 1 1/8" bars on there and I'm thinking, instead of getting an adapter to bolt to the existing mounts, I'd like to just replace the mounts, which looks doable.  If anyone has done this, what brand did you use, what height, how long does the bolt have to be?
