Probably debated to death but am wondering plus-minus to each???

Stealer "sealers" or Permatex????  Thoughts ..........
Trying to reason with hurricane season.........

you can't beat the OEM paper gaskets for sealing .
But on another note silicone  sealer when applied correctly works real good

Well there you have it. 6 of 1 and 1/2 doz of the other.  Note well applied though.

Absolutely. Some people put gobs of the stuff on - you need the thinnest smear possible. I always put a thin smear of grease on the mating face and even my Velo doesn't leak (not from there anyway.....)
