updated to better reflect the real finacial stimulus plan :D

ok-  I'll be flat out honest.

I could use backgrounds to help me keep my bike diesel Tiger build on track, keep my main biz afloat etc. There is no such thing as something for nothing.  If you provide anything it would be most most humbly appreciated.  I will do my best to do for you a nice or funny photochop for you in return.

Here's the idea- Sell to locals personalized  photochopped motorcycle pictures.

Here is why- own a kids sports business, gymnastics, trampoline etc. Economy is killing it, just started it a year ago. Been a dream for 30+ years and prepared long time and banked way in advance for the time to do it.  Buttt.. with the economy and losses due to where working capital was invested; It's near bankruptcy. Really dont want to let go of these dreams.  Trust me... I live frugile as hell (off the grid, no running water, sleep in my office often etc.

When there is a will there is a way. True American Spirit. so here is the  plan:

We get shiat loads of Harley and other weekend riders rolling thru my area. I am also opening a small potrait studio in my place of biz.

So murge the tow ideas and WHALA---- set up blue or green screen booth to take their pictures w/rider and props and chop them into backgrounds. Sell them the chopped pictures for a great deal.

Soooooo if your willing to help a Triumph Tiger man keep some dreams alive.... send please very large images that would make great backgrounds or add in's into bike pics.  If your not willing.... may the devil strike you: :grnb ... just kidding  :wav   ....  nothing in this world if free and I appreciate you taking the time to read my request.  :bowdown

Also send   pic(s) of something you want chopped together.  There is probably folk on this board better than me at chopping.... but ya got to start somewhere. BTW small areas of things like hair blowing in the wind or frizzed out, trees etc. that have background seen thru them are shiat hard to chop.  Please keep that in mind.  Bike pics I take will be easier to chop into backgrounds cause they will be infornt of special chop screens I can cut out with a push of a button.

THANX

Sounds like you have little experience in photoshop or green screening, what is your experience as a photographer doing portraits???. I think you should give your "new" business idea a second thought. Why ask people for their backgrounds when very high quality digital backgrounds are available on the net. What are you going to charge you clients for these composites???

Have had two small photo businesses over the years.

Yes lots of backgrounds available via google images and the likes but they are pretty small in detail.  Yes they might be close or little over 8x10 but still only internet quality and not photo quality.  I did find maybe 5 or 6 good ones today out of the near thousand I went thru on photobucket.

I will have prices compatable with my experience and weellll below a studio photographer.  from 5 buks up to around 30. matters who much work a pic takes.

Yes there are folk who play with photoshop that can do a far better job than I.  There are folk who get paid for it too; I assume your one, ... that could do far far better job than I.  For everyone else that can't chop that happen to be running down the road next to my existing biz.... hopefully they will consider my services.

You're actively using this website to raise money for yourself, by soliciting members here to donate photo backgrounds that you're going to sell later to finance your project.  You've even gone so far as to call it a 'fundraiser'.

Sounds like Commerce to me.

If it were a charity fundraiser, for MDA, cancer research, etc., it would have been fine in 'General Discussions'.

You're trying to make deals with folks here on this site, and the Tiger Triple Commerce Department is the place to make deals.  My own 'side projects for distribution' are posted in this area also.

For real, you should have seen this place a couple years ago... topics of every nature thrown into the various forums with no rhyme or reason, with Cialis ads and p0rn links thrown in for good measure.  It took ages to clean it all up, and now I'm just trying to keep the place organized.

Don't get upset... it's not a big deal.  This isn't the only thread I've moved today.

Not upset!  Just viewed it differently but can see your perception as well.  Agree.. over all its not a huge deal.

Been in your shoes many a times as a Mod trying to keep things organized.

If you google 'digital backgrounds" or similar you will come up with what you need, these are all "pay for"  backgrounds and are amazing quality and size. Be very carefull pulling images off the net to use( if you are doing so) without copyright permission as well as using other peoples submissions unless you have a release in writing. Just because someone gives you a photo does not mean you have the right to manipulate or use it, the image may contain property or buildings etc that may need a property release as well,,,,just a few tips that may save you some grief in the end.

thanks.  Good input about buildings and the likes.  I got some digis on order too.  Just thinking that bike people know better what bike people like.

For now thinking something simple like shots that are turned into a fake bikers magazine cover.  Corny maybe?
