Congrats, Great ride report.  I hope to do a SS1000 soon.  My longest day so far was 650 miles in 12 hours.

Congratulations!  It sounds like a hell of a trip.  In the US they would call it an Iron Butt, same thing though, 1000 miles in a 24 hour period.  I would love to do it some time.  Congrats!

It is an IronButt mate.. I have been socialising with and now hopefully will get my iron Butt UK membership number following this ride.

Have been watching the current IBA ride in the US fantastic roads out there to ride on. I have ridden some of Route 66, Valley Of Fire and round about Vegas just cant wait to get back out there now.. Or maybe Canada..

When I put SS1000. I was refering to the ride name of Saddle Sore 1000. Indeed 1000 or more miles in a 24 hour period.  The Iron Butt is the name of the association or IBA.  Stretch posts his IBA number as it is somthing to behold.

The current ride is the Iron Butt Rally.  Very interesting to see all the different bikes entered into the rally.

I've got a drawer full of reciepts and logs,  I always fill them out, then never mail them in..

I do a SS1000 every year for charity to raise money for Fisher house.

Plus work keeps sending me to places out west, and I usually ride there.

I've done several Saddle Sore 1000's, and a couple of Bun Burner 1500's (1500 miles in 36 hours. In May I did my first BunBurner Gold (1500 in 24). All on my 03 Tiger.

Addictive isnt it...

Well done on the Gold. Think i would have to go to Europe to do a Gold the roads over here are so slow...

REGULATOR

oh and good job ( ment to say that earlier)

I know when I lived in the UK it didn't take anything west/east to hit water, and to be able to make good time on the roads north south..well with traffic and all

BigMark

The longest stretch across the country East to West is 360 miles but only about 270 of those is on main roads, then you are just flogging a dead one..
North to south inside England is only 350 as well so my SS1000 took all around the outside main roads of England and half way across Scotland. In fact I think it was worked out that you can't even complete a 1500 mile trip on the Major highways in the whole of the UK without using the same section twice.

You are never more than 60 miles from the sea..

REGULATOR

yep, I lived in north Yorkshire, and we would regulary ride to both coasts in one day
