I've had my tank off 6 or 7 times, never had any trouble getting
it back on until now.  I cant seem to get the upper and lower threads
to line up, its like the tank stretched 3/8'' inch.  Maybe I should turn off the heat in the garage, maybe the tank will shrink a little.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should turn off the heat in the garage simply as a gesture of solidarity with us poor bastards who have no heat and are suffering with frozen fingers.
2004 Tiger. Black is beautiful. If I don\'t ride a little every day I get a little crazy.

Set tank on bike.

LOOSELY thread the bottom bolt.

Insert top bolt while raising up on the tank till you can get it threaded.

Tighten each bolt a little at a time till it's all secure.

These tanks tend to stretch a bit when off their perch :)
