another noobie question on the tiger

I just bought a 2000 tigger,,,,Seemed strange but when I put insurance on it, the agent says it comes up 2000 triumph tiger 955  ??? I didn't think the 955 came out until 2001.....I told him it was an 885 so he dug as far as he could into their computer system with the vin# and it keeps coming up 2000 955 ? is that possible.

I'm not an expert, so I can't tell you. I remember something about 2000 models and there being something that changed mid year, was it the engine size for the fuel injection added? Hmmm, hopefully someone in the know will chime in.

1999 and 2000 were 885FI motors and 2001 saw the upgrade to 955 FI

Very unlikely, I could understand an 885 being left over til 01 but not the new bike early.
