Hi Chaps,

My Haynes manual quotes 85Nm for the rear sprocket nuts, which seems fairly high to me, I notice that in Girly wisdom thread there is 2 differing , 85Nm but also lower down there is another quoting 55Nm.

Any thoughts?

yeah - it is inconsistent.

The haynes says 85 for a tiger, but 55 for a sprint RS....
the triumph service manual for the 885i says 85nm
the service manual for the 955i says 55nm.

The only reference to 85 is for the 1999-2000 version, the 955i manuals all say 55nm. (I don't have the haynes for a 955 version).

This is for the nuts that hold the sprocket to the wheel, correct?

Yeah, it is, thanks for that anyway, 55Nm does seem more like it to me for the size of nut.

55Nm sounds right to me, especially considering I stripped 2 of the nuts today trying to achieve 85Nm!
