I signed up for a ride from Beijing to Shanghai in August, couldn't resist the opportunity, when am I going to get this chance again. I'm starting to get quite excited and just couldn't keep it to myself any longer, I have got permission from the family grown up of course :lol:

Local (Singapore) group of bikers going up for two weeks riding in Mainland China. Not what could be called an adventure ride by any reasonable strech of the immagination, more of a tour. A wide assortment of bikes going from HD's through to VFR's, a few 'wings and the obligatory gaggle of GS's.  :roll:

We crate the bikes up in Singapore and ship them ahead to Beijing then fly up later and upack them, when we're done we ride them onto pallets in Shanghai and fly back to Singapore.

Getting all the paperwork in order is a nightmare as you might expect, the rules keep changing and we'll be under police escort on some routes, so I'm very grateful that someone else is doing it.


My only regret, apart from the Boss will be back at work in Scotland, is that I won't be able to take the Steamer, because I took her off the road for rebuild, it wasn't possible to submit all the required documents in time for the closing date.  

If it works out well I might just have to go again and ride all the way there
